YOU’LL KNOW AT FIRST
How it works
Radiometals are produced from solid target materials with the highest yield. The d.o.t.s. target® system performs the irradiation and dissolution of the irradiated target material in an automatized way. The target solution is transferred to the hotcell via capillary line.
Insert target holder
One target holder has multiple (4 or 7) positions, so you have to access the cyclotron for target holder replacement only after several production runs.
Prepare for irradiaton
Move the target to the irradiation position and start cooling.
Irradiate
Perform the irradiation.
Prepare for dissolution
Move the target to the dissolution position and perform leak checking.
Dissolve
Perform the dissolution and transfer the activity to the hotcell.
OUR PRODUCTS
SLIDE BETWEEN POSITIONS
L7 - linear for 7 shots
The target uses linear target holders with 7 positions.
Irradiation- and dissolution positions are separated in space.
The target holders are shifted from the irradiation position to the dissolution position by linear movement.
The L7 target is compatible with GE PETtrace cyclotron, and cyclotrons with beam lines.
ROTATE BETWEEN POSITIONS
R4 - revolving for 4 shots
The target uses circular target holders with four positions.
The target holders are shifted from irradiation position to dissolution position by rotary movement of a pneumatically actuated arm.
The R4 target is compatible with self-shielded GE PETtrace, Minitrace, IBA Cyclone and Kiube cyclotrons.

READY FOR PRODUCTION
we’re here to all your questions
How difficult is installation?
Installation takes just one day. Only two capillary lines are needed for liquid transfer.
Do we need hotcell space?
No. Dissolution takes place inside the system, eliminating hotcell handling.
Is it compatible with our synthesis module?
Yes. The system works with any synthesis module and integrates into existing workflows.
How is the system operated?
Operation is PLC-controlled and accessible remotely through a standard web browser.
What happens after irradiation?
Target holders are single-use. After short decay storage, they can be disposed of as normal waste.
Can we increase production capacity?
Yes. Output scales by increasing the amount of target material.
Which cyclotrons are supported?
Compatible with GE PETtrace, GE Minitrace, IBA Cyclone, and IBA Kiube. Other systems may be supported on request.
How does the cost compare to a 68Ge/68Ga generator?
For the cost of one GMP generator, you gain a long-term solution that does not expire.
Is special target preparation required?
Small amounts are sufficient for clinical activity, reducing cost and logistics.
Can this fit into our daily production schedule?
Yes. Irradiations can be scheduled between fluorine production runs.
Is the cyclotron protected from contamination?
Yes. The target material is fully separated from the vacuum tank and helium cooling systems.
Can we produce isotopes only when needed?
Yes. The system is designed for true on-demand radiometal production.
